My heart breaks for the thousands of senseless gun deaths we have every year. This is another perfect example of why we need Common Sense for Common Ground. 1/

We need leadership that will work to pass Universal Background Checks, Close the Boyfriend Loophole, Pass No Fly No Buy, and so many more common sense reforms. I support what we have done here in California and think CA is a great national example 2/

In Congress I look forward to working with great groups like @GiffordsCourage @MomsDemand @Pride_Fund and others to stand up to the NRA (and of course, I won't take their money). #

Yes, my dad always taught us to give back through our time, our talents and our treasure. We are working hard to teach our kids the same (and they are!). 1/

In addition to the great causes we've talked about before, two really mean a lot to me. @KairaRouda was a driving force behind establishing the first homeless shelter for families in Ohio. In many cases families in shelters are split up, when they need each other the most.

Also, Kaira and I have been major supporters of a school for foster children here in Orange County. Instead of being moved from school to school, these kids have a place to call their own! The first class just graduated! #
