In North Carolina we have an average of 35 days over 90 degrees, last year we had 45 days, this year we've reached 45 days already and it's not even August.
Is this the new normal?
Since 2012 there has not been a month without a wildfire burning.
Year-round fires have taken a heavy toll on 1000s of firefighters in the state including loss of life.
