Also, the life span of butterfly is relatively short. When they get closer to the end, they tend to be losing scales and look rough around the edges. Found that out when I went to butterfly garden last summer.

Yesterday, just to remind myself, I looked up the different shades of blue. This butterfly is indigo, midnight, azure and even more... What a beauty! Thank-you.

Stunning picture... will it survive?

I think the way to look at it, is that it's also nature's way to give it some protection. Its colors and markings, have kept it flying this long. Eyes on butterfly wings, focus predators' attention on less vulnerable spots. Life is short, and so beautiful, a lesson for us all.
