The PWHPA is player-driven, but they've brought in a lot of money from sponsors now so for me, the hope is we see some compensation for all players, especially during a pandemic. Getting a national broadcast platform is a gigantic step though.

Two of the best in the game. I'm going to seriously miss seeing them both on the ice.

If you ever see a female athlete doing branded content: sauce a follow, a like, a comment, and a share. Female athletes are paid/renewed by their performance on campaigns, their up front notoriety isn’t respected. It needs to change.

A real bubble would have been probably 10-14 days to quarantine ahead of time, plus the two week seasons. I doubt enough players and staff could have gotten off work for that long, or been able to work remotely - everyone works full time.

did PCR tests 72 hours before teams came to Lake Placid. Everyone was tested again as soon as they got to LP. The next scheduled test was a PCR test on Mon., Jan. 25. The league then decided to increase testing to "pretty much daily."

Some jobs have two weeks vacation total, all year. This condensed season was a necessity because of it.

A question was brought up about bringing in the players earlier - women's hockey players all have full-time jobs. This was a situation where players physically could not take that much time off to come earlier.

I was told by someone in the league they are viewing it as a cancellation, but the league has been publicly adamant they would like to still complete this at some point.
