Mike was never the same after Vietnam. From the emotional wounds you couldn’t see to the physical ones that ultimately took his life a some years ago, Mike was one of those guys who was deeply changed by his service. 2/7

Mike is one of my big “whys” in this race. Our veterans and active duty military men and women need people who will look out for their best interests, and make sure they are cared for after their service. 4/7

As you reflect on our veterans today, please remember the men and women like Mike, who came back home from their service with invisible wounds and were forever changed by the service they gave our country. 6/7

If you are looking for a charity to honor the veterans in your life, I hope you will join me in chipping in a few dollars to help the USO, an organization that does a great deal for our troops and their families: https://secure.uso.org/
