Hi, okay, so @YouTube, why the FUCK are all video downloads hidden behind YouTube premium now? What the fuck?
So wait, as a creator.. regardless of my video distribution settings to either allow or disallow video downloads, premium users can download videos? Am I understanding your FAQ correctly?

Yep. That is what it says.

While I've never really worried about the setting, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't misreading the bullet point. It does raise the question of why it's a setting option if it only stops non-premium users, though. Course, I'm assuming if it's still an option, won't be for longpic.twitter.com/Hh6NSkArev

YouTube Premium users can definitely download contents from YouTube as part of their benefits, so long as the content was published as a public video. Otherwise, if creators put some restrictions like setting the video as private, then it can't be downloaded. Hope this helps!

Thanks for clarifying, just checked, the option to disallow downloading is no longer there (used to be a check box under distribution options I think) which does open potential issues for content theft. Makes it easier for popular content to be republished on other platforms
