I find this Lovecraftian god interesting. it makes sense as Yahweh lives in a cave near Nablus. he began as a minor sprite but as with turtles, great fishes like tuna &sharks, pituitary giants, and human hair, his growth is indeterminate. he is massive now.... too huge to behold.
Is he a neo-sadduccee
Yes. He openly wants Jews to only accept the written Torah, and reject the oral Torah.
I think this is Obadiah Shocher/Samson Blinded. Definitely not normative Judaism. I would be more interested in discussing Maimonides' ideas about this. The normative parts he brings from Rabbi Kahane. The God of Judaism is something along the lines of Leibniz' idea.
The actual God of the Torah (not the one of SamsonBlinded's imagination) tells us that we should cleave to Him via emulating His attributes, which include mercy, justice, vengeance, etc. This is the opposite of Lovecraftianism. The Christians (modern ones) do the opposite.
many prophets are mentioned in the 5 books of moses and deuteronomy 18:15 says "The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him." - therefore you can't just discard the prophetic books. 1/
very odd for the author to cite midrashim which are chiefly pharisaic texts to bolster his point while simultaneously being against phariseeism. the person who wrote these words is very clearly not an orthodox Jew
What do I as a Christian have to do with this post Christian anti-Jesus nonsense? It is even unrelated to whatever religion the Jews of the Second Temple practiced.
Whoever wrote these is utterly mistaken about Christianity
