Is this TreeMix? I've always thought Dinka derive majority of their ancestry from one or more Basal Eurasian lineages. Don't they still have substantial "Basal African" (ie, SSA) admixture though?

I read somewhere a good 50% or something of Somali DNA is proto-Nilotic similar to Dinkas or Nuer peoples. That wrong?

They share ancestry w/SW Ethiopian HGs (best rep'd in ancient DNA by Mota & modern by Chabu) & Dinka/Nilo-Saharans. But largest % of Somali ancestry probably related to "deep" forms of post-SSA ancestry: Basal Eurasian & the "Ancestral North African" discovered in Taforaltpic.twitter.com/XwaGdZfne9

Thanks for the reply friend!
If you’ll indulge me again if it ain’t too much; the Mota man carried non-SSA DNA right? Was it similar to the ones carried by Afroasiatic speakers in the Horn today? -
I think Mota will have some Eurasian-related admix but bulk of his ancestry seems to come from one or more Basal African clades (ie, SSA). In this qpgraph Mota splits off prior to ANA and BE but actual split is prolly earlier, if unknown source of Eurasian admix accounted forpic.twitter.com/fIdHCjxql0

Thanks again. Exciting new advances in genetic sciences recently. Hopefully we get more ancient samples from Africa soon. Cheers.
