Tried to catch up with all of you over at Duboce Park but just missed you. Always good to get a coffee at the corner cafe though!

Love riding the rapid bus line here across the San Fernando Valley. Timed signals to allow buses to cruise through long North South avenues would make it even better!
Just another great thing about ! If you look carefully enough, you might just find dinner. I left these here though for some one else this time. Recognize them?
Such a great great of people in one photo! I can attest from first hand experience that the coffee is very much appreciated.

The team from @gubbioproject came to lunch today to celebrate serving 31,500 cups of coffee to unhoused San Franciscans over the past 6 months, thanks to a giant donation from @bonappetweet!
So much goodness from this team, down to the last drop

Completely agree! Knowing Thomasa completely challenges one’s views on those who are unhoused.

This is one of the best pieces I have read on homelessness in a long time. It is full of humanity and in little more than 1,000 words, we see all the complications, contradictions, and difficulties. twitter.com/MLNow/status/1…
So great to see. What an amazing team!

Team Gubbio is so excited to host our first of many community resources fairs
We are partnering with the purpose! Engaging services, meeting the people who are linking people to care and brining love and resources to our Mission community.

Really impressive bike lockers at Van Nuys station in San Fernando Valley, ! Sadly, you would have to have a death wish to ride your bike to get here.

People might question Sliverwood's coaching nous, but he has stressed the importance of scoring big first innings runs, and clearly, the Aussies have been paying attention! #ashes

So great to see that we are down to only 32 hospitalizations for COVID-19 here in San Francisco!

Just stopped at Walgreens near Sanchez for 5 minutes. Watched one gentleman walk out with a box of cereal while flipping off the staff and another stealing at least four swiffer type brooms. Can we address root causes while making sure that this doesn’t continue?

Absolutely brilliant thread! Thanks so much!

CA Senate Bill 9 allows up to 4 homes in most single-family zones, regardless of local zoning. You can use #SB9 to split your lot, add a 2nd home to a lot, or both (split lot & have 2 homes on each lot for total of 4).

If you are at all interested in housing— market rate, affordable—and the bay area, you absolutely have to read the book Golden Gates by . I am only halfway through, but every single page has me exclaiming, “holy shit”! An absolute primer on how we got here.

Such a great organization doing mission critical work. Volunteering there has changed who I am and how I think about issues such as homelessness, addiction.

I’m sorry, but this seems slanderous to me. Do you have evidence of this? Direct quotes? Let’s meet people where they are and then yes, let’s offer them services to become sober.

these people just want more people addicted, and to never end their addiction. they have NO desire to help people become sober. how do I know? ask them. seriously. ask them.

I’m curious why you would make this gross generalization, with no evidence?

Isn't it weird that whenever you see Trump supporters, you see American flags?
Biden supporters not a flag in sight, except the ones being trampled and burned
I think that understand doesn’t mean agree with or give in to. I think that Chris Arnade’s book Dignity shows exactly that the poor or working poor are a more complex social riddle than you appear to be giving credence to.

I think the phrase "it is important to understand them" suggests that they are a more complex social riddle than they really are. I grew up in that environment - and in that time. If the song never changes, maybe intellectualizing their views is the wrong path.
To see one of the greats of all time reduced to tears breaks one's heart. Devastating.

Time to reconsider the use of law-enforcement ? As a donor, I would love to hear your thinking around this.
PSA: San Francisco, stop wandering down the sidewalk while looking down at your cellphones! #SocialDistancing
Forgive me if I missed it, , but has there been any update on the Four Barrel ownership situation? I'm hoping for the staff's sake that there's been some clarity.

The money in collected fines usually goes to the general fund, not the library. All those people who come in saying they are supporting the library by paying their fees aren’t making a donation, they’re paying a fee.

Silly question #coffee folx. Do other people use the #aeropress funnel to brew coffee like this as well to prevent leakage? Seems to be made for it.
Here's a lovely story amidst the apocalypse. I've long thought that libraries, as community hubs, could be so much more than places to borrow books. Thanks for being so great & Sorry about that $9 I still owe you from 2012... nextcity.org/daily/entry/li
