Mexico City bike lanes at night. Tons of bus only lanes where bikes can ride as well. In some ways, puts our bike infrastructure in SF to shame.

Such a great great of people in one photo! I can attest from first hand experience that the coffee is very much appreciated.

The team from @gubbioproject came to lunch today to celebrate serving 31,500 cups of coffee to unhoused San Franciscans over the past 6 months, thanks to a giant donation from @bonappetweet! So much goodness from this team, down to the last drop ☕️! #OneTeam

Completely agree! Knowing Thomasa completely challenges one’s views on those who are unhoused.

This is one of the best pieces I have read on homelessness in a long time. It is full of humanity and in little more than 1,000 words, we see all the complications, contradictions, and difficulties. twitter.com/MLNow/status/1…
Waiting here at the station in Irvine to head to San Juan Capistrano. Was supposed to arrive 25 minutes ago. But zero announcements at all to inform those of us waiting on a sunny platform. Better communication would be appreciated.
So great to see. What an amazing team!

Team Gubbio is so excited to host our first of many community resources fairs🙏❤️ We are partnering with the purpose! Engaging services, meeting the people who are linking people to care and brining love and resources to our Mission community. 🙏❤️🐺🌈

Just stopped at Walgreens near Sanchez for 5 minutes. Watched one gentleman walk out with a box of cereal while flipping off the staff and another stealing at least four swiffer type brooms. Can we address root causes while making sure that this doesn’t continue?

Back on right now for first time since pandemic started and it's glorious. And of course, someone is holding a business call in a loud voice! Nature is healing.

Absolutely brilliant thread! Thanks so much!

CA Senate Bill 9 allows up to 4 homes in most single-family zones, regardless of local zoning. You can use #SB9 to split your lot, add a 2nd home to a lot, or both (split lot & have 2 homes on each lot for total of 4). Here's a how-to guide & thread: sites.google.com/view/alfredtwu 1/
Show this thread
Diagram showing how SB9 can be used on a 40x100 lot. Illustration of a lot, with a house, with a duplex, and with a duplex and lot split. Labels: No parking required if lot is within a 1/2 mile of a rail or ferry stop, or a bus line with service at least every 15 minutes during rush hour, or within a block of a carshare vehicle, New lot created from lot split must contain 40-60% of the original lot. Two homes allowed per lot. The second unit can be in a new building, or created by dividing a house into 2 homes.Buildings must still follow local zoning rules such as height and yard requirements. However, you can get exceptions if there is no other way to build 2 homes of up to 800 square feet each (enough space for a 2-bedroom house).
If you are at all interested in housing— market rate, affordable—and the bay area, you absolutely have to read the book Golden Gates by . I am only halfway through, but every single page has me exclaiming, “holy shit”! An absolute primer on how we got here.

Such a great organization doing mission critical work. Volunteering there has changed who I am and how I think about issues such as homelessness, addiction.

Thank you @SFGiants for highlighting #TheGubbioProject at #StJohnsInTheMission where people experiencing homelessness get Sacred Sleep in the safety of our church 😴 🌈🐺🙏

I’m sorry, but this seems slanderous to me. Do you have evidence of this? Direct quotes? Let’s meet people where they are and then yes, let’s offer them services to become sober.

these people just want more people addicted, and to never end their addiction. they have NO desire to help people become sober. how do I know? ask them. seriously. ask them.

I think that understand doesn’t mean agree with or give in to. I think that Chris Arnade’s book Dignity shows exactly that the poor or working poor are a more complex social riddle than you appear to be giving credence to.

I think the phrase "it is important to understand them" suggests that they are a more complex social riddle than they really are. I grew up in that environment - and in that time. If the song never changes, maybe intellectualizing their views is the wrong path.
Hey there I'm interested in renting a car (VW Atlas), but it has to be 4WD/AWD to take to the mountains. Can you let me know if cars you have in SF are AWD or not?
