Could a baptist explain to me why God no longer includes children of covenant members in the covenant promises?
Baptism, like circumcision, is God's commanded initiation rite into his Covenant. It is a sign pointing to His promises, and His earnest seal that he'll provide those promises, but they must be embraced by faith. God's sacraments are both symbolic and substantial. 1/2

Do you refer to the covenant of redemption Luke 22:20?
-
The covenant of grace, which has been saving believers by grace thru faith since Gen 3 - fully revealed in the New Covenant administration expressed in the supper.
-
So NOT the same covenant Jesus speaks of in Luke 22?
-
"fully revealed in the New Covenant administration expressed in the Supper" <-- that's Luke 22. Yet it's the same covenant which saved Abraham.
-
Hmmm. I guess I don’t know what “points to” means then.

Signs "point to what Christ has done. They illustrate and testify to his gospel promises. They are signs of what he has done for all his people (elect) and what is true of all those who believe." This is true of circumcision and baptism.https://heidelblog.net/2018/07/what-do-we-mean-by-sacrament-sign-and-seal/ …
