You'd expect, after thousands of years of YHWH teaching that covenant rites are for "you and your children", such a massive change in the way it's administered would be explained clearly, but instead, Peter repeats the formula.

No babies are baptized in the Bible. One is part of the NC by faith, then is baptized in NT model. Those who fall away from the covenant fall away from the faith.
-
1) Only that which is shown in the Bible is to be done. 2) No baptisms of children upon reaching the 'age of reason' or of the mentally-handicapped are in the Bible. ∴ We shouldn't baptize children upon reaching the 'age of reason' or mentally-handicapped people.

I disagree that we do only what is shown but we do that which is commanded. Repent and be baptized is the model. Not be baptized, then years later hopefully you repent. Baptism is for believers. Plain and simple.
-
With respect, show me all the Apostles' successors who held to your model. You cannot limit Baptism - which is NT circumcision - to a command which was given to Jewish and Gentile converts. Pure reductionism.
-
You can and should. Lack of faith prohibits one from being baptized. Early church must be taken with a grain of salt. Many held to baptismal regeneration. Sadly, some believe this. And just as circumcision resulted in pride and works emphasis, so does infant baptism.
-
Baptism apart from faith is fruitless.
-
Well, I for one, believe that God didn't abandon his Church for 1500 years on this issue. The fact that it was taken for granted as the practice of the Apostles speaks against you. Like circumcision, infants are in the external administration of the covenant.
-
I'm sure Catholics would agree. No apostle preached or performed infant baptism. One enters the NC by faith, not baptism. And anyone can enter at anytime. A baptized baby has no advantage over an unbaptized baby. To think otherwise is to exalt pride and works.
