amount of medicalization would make that go away. Instead, I had to get therapy and address the real root of my dysphoria. So, I detransitioned. I was met with hostility and misunderstanding, but I prevailed because I knew it was what was healthiest for me. /2

A year after stopping hormones, I was hospitalized 3 times for mini strokes. My health has been shattered by transition, but I have taken many steps to become healthier and know more about my body. I do not love my body unconditionally. It is hard work. It takes reminding. /3

I do not always love being a woman. But I have grown to love myself more through the encouragement of surrounding myself with empowering women. My dysphoria hasn't gone away, but I manage it. I am forever changed, but I am happy with who I am today.

Thank you all for the lovely support. I wanted to clarify one thing I forgot to mention: I experienced no discrimination from family, friends, or employers during my transition. It was never a motivator for me to detransition, although it might be for some others.
