    As the pandemic took hold of the world, we again raised the case of vulnerable prisoners in the UAE, key among them, those living with HIV. There is no indication since that the situation has truly improved for said prisoners.

    More than 35 public health groups worldwide then called on and to urge UAE authorities to ensure that all prisoners in their custody have access to appropriate HIV treatment and care, without success.

    This article on rising HIV cases in MENA conveniently omitted the very concerning situation of prisoners in the UAE living with HIV who continue to be denied lifesaving medication.
