Again, it's probably a good time to listen to students, especially those whom have carefully and thoughtfully laid out their needs and solutions. Underestimating the will of students armed with strong voices and social media platform won't end well.

I disagree that students should be a part of approving faculty hires and tenor. I think under that system, it would be difficult to attract top faculty. But I agree with most of what’s here.
-
It’s madness. As if an 18-22 year old is positioned to be a part of such a process. Much of that document is laughable.
-
This will never happen. Ridiculous to think the school would do half of this. Better off going back to occupying Wall Street
-
It’s not that strange. Grad students are allowed to be on search committees at plenty of universities.
-
That makes more sense because grad students are deeply involved in research, they are emerging experts in the fields that potential professors are also experts in. A undergraduate students doesn't have that same expertise.
-
What’s the difference between a first year grad student & a senior undergrad? Not much honestly. Students put lots of time, effort, and money into their educations. I dont see why they can’t be given the opportunity to be on committees cause even faculty dont always pick the best
-
The difference is years of research, coursework and publishing. There is a huge difference between the work required to be a successful graduate student or a PhD, and that required in undergrad.
-
Lots of undergrads do research. I did research my entire undergraduate career. Lots of my friends also did and got published! Give undergrads some credit.

As a proud HUSL grad, I am elated to see that this generation of HU students have the will to fight for the school we all love! Fight the educated fight!

When I read that he reprimanded a young sister for her "tone and tenor" rather than address her concerns about inadequate housing, I climbed on board the "it's time for him to go" train. We are not playing into that stereotype anymore and we are no longer going to be dismissed.

Agreed. TBH the entire dc is having an issue with free enterprise development vs. societal housing needs.

I'll say this, as a grad student in an area related to that industry. On the one hand the city government is ran by black people...

Well ultimately the fact that it's so hard for blk people to escape poverty is a HUGE part of the issue.
