I just don't think men are particularly inclined to yelling. I've seen more withdrawing into moody silence, walking out & even punching walls from men than yelling. I think women are more likely to express angry feelings verbally & often loudly. Just my 40 year observation tho.

Agreed. For the simple reason that when men yell...the stakes are higher. We don't typically yell unless we're also prepared to fight. Women yell without considering that a physical exchange might result...which is likely to be true for them.
-
This is only true when yelling at other men though.
-
Not so sure about that. If I'm going to yell at a woman...I can expect that a man is likely to respond physically on her behalf.

I've only ever been yelled at by women in the workplace and even women friends. I can't recall being yelled at any man except my Dad and one appalling schoolteacher. And while I can't know this, I bet at least some of the respondents on that thread themselves yell at men.

I'm a male teacher! And well, yes.

The amount of yelling done by men vs women in my 32 years of nursing has been in direct proportion to how god like the yeller saw themselves. Male cardiac surgeons and rural GP’s with rural hospital visiting rights have been the worst in my experience.

I along with everyone else on staff were verbally abused by a male when I was a waitress years ago. Male managers weren’t always nice. I turned him in and he got fired (thank goodness). In white collar jobs that I have had women have been more caddy and mean than men.

Women are quite skilled at yelling. Don’t let male chauvinists tell you otherwise.

Just out of curiosity, are we going to do "have you been yelled at by a woman," too?
