20-30 attacked & terrorised a woman old enough to be their mother. That no one thought "this is a human being." I can't deal with that. I can't.

I don't think this will make it better, but when quite a few people are around the chances of support and help get slimmer. The bystander effect. It's one of the less humane parts of humanity. I do suggest you get some professional help for this. It's a trauma. One to deal with

I'm so sorry this happened, Iona. My Gauri said that it took her a while to believe that if a woman is attacked in public in England, people will help, because that wasn't her experience in India. She went out in a group for this reason. It must be fear.

She said there is a culture of not getting involved & this is why the Gulabi was formed. Women who go around on mopeds & hold men accountable for things like sexual assault because there needs to be public condemnation which will prevent bad actors thinking they can just do this.
