By all means enjoy the idea of living a life of individuality, individual freedom and career fulfillment as much as you wish. Other cultures have other priorities.

That's cool, but it will end with your generation or the one after.

The trend towards lower birthrates is worldwide, even if some cultures are still higher than others. Extend education to women and birthrates plummet, regardless of religion or culture. It will cause global demographic shift, but there have been dozens of those, and no-one minds.

No one minds birth rates plummeting so much that for many cultures they now fall under replacement levels? Are you that sure that "no one minds"? In countries like Japan it is considered an economic and demographic disaster. I'm pretty sure that, as an example, they mind.

So the solution is to import young foreign labour from other cultures to replace your own aging population and your own culture?

British Indians are often more stereotypically British than people whose ancestors have been here for as long as they know. Some problems with assimilation with Muslims in UK but American Muslims are the most liberal in the world. 42% in favour of same sex marriage.

"British Indians are often more stereotypically British than people whose ancestors have been here for as long as they know." Yep. Making India British was the philosophy back in the day.

I already clearly understood that you don't do multi-generational thinking.

If he's just arguing for better welfare for low-income families and subsidised childcare, I'm with him.

A whole lot of these measures which don't leave two working adults working poor with no means or time to raise a family.
