There we go. I'm lucky to have husband who is v tolerant of me being mostly in my own head. Also to have child who needs a lot of time in hers. She requires my undivided attention for abt 20 mins when she gets in from school & half hr before bed. Otherwise, geek world. Go away.https://twitter.com/O_Draws/status/999198918134190080 …

My partner and I both devote nearly all of our non-social energy to art, writing, music, or winning bread. The notion that a child would ever be added to that is horrifying. We're way on out in the minority populace here, and lucky to have found each other.

There is so much evidence that genetics have more to do with personality than socialisation. My father, daughter & I are unsociable, single-minded people & if it weren't for my father, I might think I made my daughter this way. But my extrovert, butterfly-mind mother raised me.

It also helps. My mother decided to cure my reclusive nature with Brownies and horrifyingly, drama school. I have suggested these things to my daughter but was willing to accept her 'NO. Too peoply' as her being her, not a problem.

Properly nurturing introverts is very important, as we are the best and least annoying people.

IKR! I never get the claim that it's selfish to be introverted. We are not the ones whose psychological needs place demands on other people.

I'm quite introverted and get annoyed when others expect me to be outgoing most of the time. I like my space and am not affecting other people so why they see my introverted nature as a problem I've no idea.
