There is so much evidence that genetics have more to do with personality than socialisation. My father, daughter & I are unsociable, single-minded people & if it weren't for my father, I might think I made my daughter this way. But my extrovert, butterfly-mind mother raised me.

It also helps. My mother decided to cure my reclusive nature with Brownies and horrifyingly, drama school. I have suggested these things to my daughter but was willing to accept her 'NO. Too peoply' as her being her, not a problem.

But I digress. In summary, assume that both sexes are complete human beings with the full range of needs of the things human society has to offer but that they will vary significantly on the balance by gender and even more significantly by individual. The end.

Socialising: subjected to what poors out of the heads of other people. Sadly, those that have riveting output are few, and they express their interesting ideas most engagingly in books, art, lectures, ... Why would anyone not focus on enjoying that, in one's own head?

This is what I have often said! It is a mistake to think I am not interested in people. I am overwhelmingly interested in people. Its why I went into the humanities & now study culture & psychology. I just prefer people's thoughts to be written down or mutable.
