We'll get feminists complaining that we're still not making exactly the same choices in exactly the same numbers & women are still lumbered with more domestic stuff & conservatives insisting that women were happier before they had choices & men are now denied their role in life.

Neither of these are useful. The book also seems to get a bit apocalyptic. It's tedious because it would be ethically unjustifiable to go back & its not going to happen. We can only think of productive ways to deal with the changes & be rational about their causes.

This is an important point. Gender equity wasn’t possible in a pre-birth control world. Historically pregnancy put women’s lives at risk.
