I think a few things are conflated there. Generally speaking, I think approx. all of the (mutually disagreeing) people you are talking about draw a sex/gender distinction and that trans exclusion is (for most of them) in sex-exclusive contexts.

The interview (which I have read already) shows that JB certainly marks the sex gender distinction. Are you claiming that Jeffrey's does not make that distinction? I think that's also directly contradicted in quotes from her in the same interview.
