We agree, essentially. But there will always be cases where we do not care & cases where we do & these are highly subjective & this is the problem. Which are punchable offences tweeps? if you are an arsehole to people then you should expect to get punched. besides, I never said that it should be officially allowed just that I would not care.

I wouldn't punch anyone unless they were physically attacking me or someone I cared about? Apart from Antifa shitheads and bad drunks, I don't see many people just punching w/o physical provocation.

No, but the argument being made was that misgendering should count as fighting words and trans people who respond with violence should be considered potentially justified.

I was reminded of friends who advocate punching Nazis. And my ham-handed point is that certain ppl seem to champion such "emotionally understandable" actions even when they would never act like that, which I find to be a strange message.

People need to be insulted in their lives. It builds character and proves the better person. How feeble is a mind that can't handle a dig from a moron? "You do not have the right to not be insulted." –my mom

I think a civil human with a sober constitution and stable personality would find none of them punchable. But they might not hold the door...

Where I grew up, I heard black children/teens/adults called the n-word constantly; they always came back with the most withering, destructive personal insults on earth; they took care of themselves *just fine*. (major deterrence!) We resist violence, not *give in* like animals.
