Someone goes up to a black person and begins using racial slurs at them. They get punched in the face. The punching is not a truly appropriate response and should not necessarily be authorised by law. I also don't care that the person using the slurs got hurt. they deserved it.

Why a black person? Are you implying that black people are more likely to react to verbal abuse with physical violence?
