The word 'oscillate' gets used a lot as tho we can have our comfortable metanarratives at times but then be very skeptical of everything at others. This gets a bit dizzying. I'd much rather we made clear distinctions between things that make us feel good & things that are true

This does not come naturally to us & so it needs to be a clear aim with clear strategies for achieving the distinction to the best of our ability. Modernity has been too sure of itself and postmodernism was too indiscriminately sceptical. We are foolish apes who overdo everything

That is so 2017. The latest philosophy edge has moved to neo-meta-modernism. It's a pre-modern examination of post-post-modernism. j/k it's all a meaningless noodle salad used to justify tenured positions, $$$ courses, illegible journal articles, and books used for class.

What it is with these types who keep on banging the ''they are trying to return to [insert decade]'' drum? Peterson and even those conservatives/reactionaries who disagree with him (P. Hitchens) continually dismiss any attempts to do so.
