I think it was a good attempt but there are some things that I would change if the goal is for the people you are describing to feel like they aren’t being mischaracterized.

So I am obvs biased in the other direction but the whole “Identity Politics” label feels like a smear. It feels like you are saying we want to divide the world up by race rather than simply dealing with the fact that other people already have.

Communication is about understanding. I’m not asking you to cater to my feelings. I’m just giving you some feedback about how your words might be interpreted.

If you continue to use them this way you might get a lot of people inferring things you don’t mean and feeling mischaracterized and there might be better ways of saying it that avoid that confusion. That’s all I’m saying.

Like I could refer to the group you refer to as “universal liberals” as racial violence denialists and get upset when people “take it the wrong way” but I won’t and if I did I wouldn’t be surprised if you complained about it.
