It's been happening incredibly fast. Every generation has been less racist, sexist & homophobic than the one before. Even within 10 years, you see attitudes change and racist, sexist, homophobic sentiments which were acceptable disappear from movies & polite conversation. https://twitter.com/buyaknife/status/996055041386696704 …

Isn't this mediated by the fact that many institutions and codes were prescribed before the change in sentiment? Why continue war on drugs, or racial clustering in gerrymandering, voter suppression, lack of capital assets to minorities. Why rest on attitudes not institutions?

It seems that every tweet I get from you misses the entire context of a tweet thread, misses the point itself, focuses on a specific tweet about a specific aspect, makes huge assumptions & asks why I don't address something I've addressed at length.

I'm sorry. I'm sure you mean well but every time I see your avatar now, I think 'Oh god, what bizarre thing is he going to assume I'm advocating now & begin 'But don't you think <something really basic you've discussed 100 times> is relevant' Its this that makes me hate Twitter.

I bear you no ill will but, in order to remain on Twitter, I am now muting people who get in the way of conversation. (Assume I am not advocating focusing solely on attitudes, have also discussed how rapidly institutions have changed and that we still have work to do)
