Helen! No! Bad! You cannot use people as test subjects like that!

Because?
-
Um... gosh... I know this one... Wait; it’ll come to me...
-
Quite. Societal experiments with human test subjects are going on *all the time* in the enormous laboratory that is Planet Earth, and the Ethics Committee never bats an eyelid. As long as the subjects of Isle-Lab are properly warned volunteers, I don't see a real problem here.

I’d bet on which island would end up resorting to cannibalism.

Before volunteers are accepted for the experiment, they should be lent a copy of "Lord of the Flies", by William Golding; they don't get to go to any of the Islands until they've taken and passed a comprehension test on the book's contents, plot, and themes.
-
I'd suggest an escape and evasion course as well, plus basic streetfighting techniques.
-
A couple of days with Bear Grylls would also be useful. A minor nit: you can't have street-fighting until they've built themselves some streets. And that simply isn't going to happen, except on Pragmatic Engineers Rock, which is the Island that *I* would want to be on.
-
Very true, what *was* i thinking? Are you positing the Jungian/Humanist island takes the place of Golgafrinchan Ark B?
-
The thought had crossed my mind, yes. And, in fact, most of the other islands would help to fulfil the same rôle. (As a simple precaution, we should ensure that we take along a few telephone sanitisers to PER, just in case.)

That'd be awesome.

First we'd need to be able to establish what the Jungian narratives island actually wants...

The Very fact that establishing a social justice based society as an experiment would be inherently unethical speaks to what the results would undoubtedly be

It seems to be archetypes can support liberal positions. I don't understand why they must be separate, rather than use what we find useful within that framework.
