It has been implied that if you follow me, you could end up thinking alt-right views are sensible. ( I don't think Kriz thinks that) How does this work? Me: Stop judging people by race/gender/sexuality & be consistently liberal. Readers: Yes, the alt-right does seem the way to gohttps://twitter.com/InfoWartz/status/995665665372688384 …

I've found that following you has lead me to read defenses of post modernism. I've even learned that there is something interesting about it. And it's not to be dismissed out of hand. We'll have to see where this slippery slope ends I suppose.

I got lost at San Harris being a gateway drug to the alt-right even. I’m beginning to wonder if I’m just actually crazy? One side of this question is. I don’t think it’s me. But crazy people aren’t supposed to know they’re crazy, right?

That is spot on. My comment upon perspectives changing is due to seeing a regressive left commentary that leads ppl to think centrists are on the Right. Thank you for mentioning me. 👍

Some people claiming to be centrists really are far right, though. I mean specifically partisan Democrats, because neoliberalism is a far right economic perspective. A lot of fascists called themselves Third Way or Third Position, too, but they're still far right. But there are

also centrists, and various perspectives on the left. You don't have to be a Marxist to be a leftist. There are many types of Socialism, and Marxism is only one of them, but the people you're talking about are the outrage mongers who make everything about identity, not leftists.

I have been saying that about the Left for a while. (That the Left is not a monolithic bloc and that not all on the Left/Socialists are Marxists)

It's because "alt-right" is a vague label of opportunity that means "white supremacy" when asked to define it but means "criticizes woke orthodoxy" when used to categorize people. Like "neoliberal" on crack.

People need to realize that some alt-right people with extreme stances on immigration can have perfectly reasonable stances on topics like tax reform. We can agree with them on one and strongly disagree on the other.

The danger is in lending your voice/reach/credibility to them on the positive topics, which can bleed into the negative ones. I still struggle with how to try and reach common ground in the public square while minimizing the exposure I give to their other efforts.
