The accusation of cultural bias assumes that a person favours one culture because it is their own. That happens, but when they are actually saying that cultures that give women & the LGBT rights are better than cultures that don't, this doesn't wash.

I do think secular, liberal democracies which value science & reason &freedom & human rights are the best places to live. They're not perfect but where problems exist they're caused by not doing these things enough. I don't care if that makes you think I'm a cultural chauvinist.

Some things should not be discriminated against - race, gender, sexuality etc. Some things should - ideas, values. (Note: not people with those ideas) Be discriminating in the ideas and values you support, people. There is no shame in that.

Good luck defining “morally superior cultures” in a way that only includes the good parts you like...
-
Fortunately, we don't have to. We can point out the good bits and bad bits and make a generally summary. I look mostly at human rights and social justice issues. For women, ethnic, religious & sexual minorities, it's better to live in secular liberal democracies with equal rights
-
Then that’s not superiority. You can find good bits and make a general summary of ANY culture, that won’t make them superior or inferior.
-
You can weigh it up any way you like, obviously. If you were inclined to think that religiosity was the most important thing about a country, the UK is one of the worst. If you think social justice for women & minorities matter, it's one of the best.

Except where grooming gangs are involved.

You're sort of agreeing with my point here.
-
Your point appears to be a criticism that hints of hypocrisy.
-
My point is that classical liberals, as Lehmann et al describe them, aren't against moral hierarchies, as Lehmann claims.
-
She didn't say that classical liberals oppose all moral hierarchies. Only those that rank people based on immutable qualities - race and gender. That's very different than a moral hierarchy that ranks ideas.

if people think some cultures can't be inferior to other cultures, i would lie them to explain how Jim Crow America is not inferior to modern America
