My suspicion that one cannot post anything on Twitter without it becoming politicised and nasty has been confirmed by posting pictures of a heron in my parent's garden & my dinner.

I posted these 2 pictures of my pet bunnies once (who I rescued from impending euthanasia), and someone commented a four paragraph novel accusing me of being a "slave master" for owning pets. Shocker, they were vegan.pic.twitter.com/ygfRw0iNXa

Have you interrogated the position of privilege that allows your parents to have a heron in their garden?

Also, I thought you might like this (admittedly terrible) picture of a green heron nest with two gorgeous-colored eggs that my daughter and I discovered yesterday. You have to scroll in a lot to see them - the bird is hiding in there, too. Have a lovely day!pic.twitter.com/1GaeC6g1lj

How did that get political, I just suggested an inflatable crocodile strategically placed to keep the herons away.

Not entirely. It also depends on what kind of topics you usually tweet about, what kind of people follow you & who retweet you. Given your usual tweets and work you have a lot of politically curious followers, so for you everything you post will likely be politicised in some way.
