I want one. The way Australia manages to have such a combination of adorability and deadliness in its fauna makes me think there might be a god and it has a dark sense of humour.

I've always maintained the Platypus proves (a) gods exist, (b) fight over who gets to design what, and (c) at least one of them is pisspot.

You have made me want a puggle and sugar glider today. My menagerie is large enough and my husband will leave me.

The only problem with a puggle is it will grow into an adult platypus and part of that process is growing a poisonous spur on the back legs.

Only the males have the spur for some reason.

Because women are sneaky, not much sexual dimorphism, let the guys use their resources to grow scary poison spurs, we look like them and we get the evolutionary advantage of being scary for free.
