Yes, absolutely. Very dark, ugly & divisive. I will deprogram myself from it with Stephen Pinker as soon as I have all my notes organised for that chapter. I'm just not sure he's written, spoken enough to get me through the coming year.https://twitter.com/IonaItalia/status/993472141529178113 …

I'm convinced that obsessing on racism is MORE likely to make people racist. Not you, though. But when I read that stuff I find myself classifying people racially way more than usual & saying really awkward things I wouldn't normally. It's not healthy... https://twitter.com/HPluckrose/status/993470430655770624 …

Love Pinker but you guys also should read “A Dreadful Deceit” by historian Jacquline Jones. A real honest liberal look at the construct of race. Her conclusion is the more we concentrate on racial differences the worse it gets no matter your politics. Trump is proof she’s right!

Maybe Matt Ridley for backup, should you run out of Pinker in a pinch.https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7776209-the-rational-optimist …

Last summer, I slogged through some of the foundational essays of CRT. Though I enjoyed some of Derek Bell's writings, I found Crenshaw, Delgado and the others insufferable. Thanks for doing this work so people like me don't have to!

Looking forward to your book, and I share your appreciation for Steven Pinker. I'm close to finishing The Blank Slate — excellent book.
