I think it is. Most people neither know nor care if their meat is Halal. It tastes the same. It would need to be something the average Brit found morally or emotionally repugnant. If a country where dog was standard chose it particularly to put British homeless ppl in a dilemma

...when other meat was at least as cheaply available and then said, as people have here, 'If you're hungry enough, you'll eat it. If you can complain, you're not that hungry,' I'd consider it petty and spiteful.

And I would NOT touch dog meat, even if almost dying of hunger. If someone knew that & insisted on serving it to me anyway, it would be a deliberate insult.

Yes. And back to my original point: as a child, my dad walked from Burma to India. I doubt he was choosy about food.
