Lots of people have been silenced for expressing views on Islam so I guess thats why they speak so strongly about it. But they've also watched as the uk police actively ignore gang rape victims in fear of being labeled racist, which I think is very important too!

Indeed. Problems associated with Islam is one of the things it's hardest to speak out about and will be central to freedom of speech issues but this gets undermined when it turns to bashing muslims and immigrants generally.

Exactly. To add to the problem, those who speak about problems with islam are all too often wrongly condemned as bashing muslims and being racist.

Perhaps these people would not be so much anti-immigration and anti-i-slam, if they could voice their opinion more openly without having to worry about the thought-police. This event seems to give these people an outlet to voice their opinion, and the first burst is always big

To be fair.... criticising islam and immigration CAN be cause for arrest unlike most other speech. Was thus bound to turn out like this.
