I think I've just been accused of ableism for saying I'm trying to lose weight so my organs start working properly again and I'm not in imminent danger of death. I'm being accused of a lot of things I haven't said or done but she really, really wants to be mad at someone.https://twitter.com/zoupmachine/status/992885717012484098 …

Also, I think I, a fat & disabled person, have just been called fatphobic and ableist by someone with thin & able-bodied privilege. Good thing I don't think thin & able-bodied privilege are real things.

That’s the part where I got so confused! We live in a time where people don’t discuss anymore but vociferously argue with what they think someone will probably say.
It’s really weird.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

wow my brain hurts after reading all that. It’s all well & good to “talk about making spaces for people to get healthy” but you still have to talk about the dangers of obesity to have that talk..? She’s a looney tune. good luck with your weight loss journey!

Ach some people are just determined to be unhappy. I'm also trying to lose weight after putting it on after an op. If defo affects your health, my joints kill me even more with the extra weight.

Be supportive. Don't be a dick because someone is fat. That's fine. But I think she wants you to go further and be apologetic for wanting to lose a bit of weight. The fat acceptance movement has a strange side to it.
