The strangest thing about that was she's saying exactly the same thing as me - don't shame obese people but encourage & make it easier for them to eat more healthily and exercise more - and this is exactly what got me called fatphobic and accused of fatshaming.

Also, I think I, a fat & disabled person, have just been called fatphobic and ableist by someone with thin & able-bodied privilege. Good thing I don't think thin & able-bodied privilege are real things.

"Holy shit, ableism". You shocked her. She cannot believe how cluelessly ablist you were. She hadn't heard someone say they want their organs to function properly since the 1950s. What year is this? Holy shit!
-
Wanting your organs to function is just narcissism

I do love the optimism of those who think its easier to change a society's beauty and health standards than to take any proactive steps themselves.
-
Hell, the health standards are set by human biology and they still that's the way to go instead of asking fat people to make non-destructive choices. I sense decades of wasted government spending ahead...en route to the realization that it's better just to shame people.

You can safely ignore anyone who uses the word "problematic" unironically
-
I also tend to brace myself when I read a sentence starting with "the fact that you don't understand..." which is an indicator I'm about to hear some category 10 moral posturing
-
Definitely. I know I have to brace myself when that particular preface comes charging out of my daughter's mouth.

I've been told that I can't be really disabled and not support Corbyn, I've even been blocked by so called disabled friends for not supporting labour/corbyn... I also got abuse from disabled people for voting for brexit... I'm used to the abuse now.
-
Before I forget, I also got abuse from the disability officer of the CLP for not supporting corbyn.

I wonder if people who use the word "problematic" in this way know what a cliché is.

F em! You go get yourself healthy! I'm rooting for you cause I've been there. Overweight and was causing health issues. It was really hard work but after about a year not only did I lose that weight but I developed a routine and diet I could stick to.
