To everyone on the left concerned about men finding @jordanbpeterson appealing - what's *your* answer?
Do you have something to say to young men besides labelling them the enemy and pathologizing them?
Once you figure this out, a healthy debate will ensue.

I think we can like and respect men as the decent members of society that they generally are and still wish none of them were drawn to strange, socially conservative woo about Jungian archetypes and bible stories. I recently said this to a young man about it.pic.twitter.com/yZZrq73RVu

One of the best assessments I've read thus far- very worthy of a full article imo.

Nah its a flawed assessment based on ideological positioning. Like most criticisms, it plays down the degree of scholarship and real-world experience of Peterson. It's "I think he's wrong, thus he's ignorant/misinformed/living in fantasy land".

I'm prepared to admit I may have misunderstood you, and thus mischaracterised you... *But* - ideological - what's wrong with social conservatism? Referencing a "50s mythic fantasy"? They are ideological statements. I actually agree with your tweet analysis and first pg image...

I share some values with Peterson - we're both v critical of postmodernism, feminism & threats to freedom of speech - but disagree with his social conservatism circa pre-birth control stuff. But I do not unthinkingly oppose him for ideological reasons & value viewpoint diversity
