LOL. Disagreeing with you that 'men' are the problem rather than a tiny proportion of violent criminals is an attempt to prevent debate and progress. You could open it even further & say humans are the problem or you could narrow more & say violent criminals are but no...https://twitter.com/DeepEcologyAU/status/992205997589479426 …

There's also a false equivalence. It's a classic tactic of the Right and classic liberals. The false centre. It's a deliberate tactic, to obfuscate, and prevent debate and progress. In this they accuse their victims of which they are most guilty.

It's so telling. The "right and classic liberals" commentary. So... badically every other dissenting opinion? Very scientific and rational of you.

I was calling out tactics. Sure go ahead and make a valid argument. Tone policing and false equivalence are not valid arguments. If the feelings of "demonized" men are the hill you want to die on, go ahead, you do you. But don't tell the Left what to be most concerned with.

Show me that it helps? How does blaming an entire sex for the behaviour of its worst elements help reduce that behaviour rather than just adding to the amount of hostility, resentment and gendered nastiness in the world?

There is no way you have followed Helen long if you are accusing HER of using tone-policing tactics. In fact, it highlights how ridiculously hypocritical you're being right now. Who is using "tone tactics?"

I'm very aware of her work. She is consistently dishonest and tone-policing.

I do 'tone police.' I think it matters how we speak to people if we want to persuade them. However, it is not tone policing to object to sexism. Tone is not the issue here. 'Excuse me, can I just mention that men are murderous, enslaving rapists?' is still rather problematic!pic.twitter.com/UekRnHDVsG

Objections to “tone policing” are demands that people stick around while the objector continues the abuse.

I can see this take, but I actually think the objector FEELS victimized here. Therein lies the problem. Green has actually convinced themselves that Helen is abusive. It defies all rational logic, but ... what are ya gonna do?

I would so love to open up the debate to all humans being the problem, but we appear to be unable to agree on basic facts within the species and challenge social norms.

People already can't handle being told they're privileged and their attitudes are harmful to women. How will they take it when they're told they're a cancer upon the Earth and the other species would definitely be better off without us. LOL

Who is "they"? You can't insist that feminists don't generalize men and then generalize feminists yourself.
