That's the problem though isn't it? Jordan tells straight white men that they aren't evil and the media attacks him for that. The silent left majority agree with him on that, I'm sure. But the vocal left, including mainstream media, don't. The silent left can't stay silent.

I haven't seen anyone attacking him for saying straight, white men they aren't evil. I also think there are plenty of liberal lefties also saying this.
-
They don't use those exact words, but he is wrongly associated with the alt right a lot. What he is saying may be too heavy on woo, but it isn't bigoted. And constant claims to that effect give the illusion that the left agrees more with the crazies than their opponents.
-
Yes, he is wrongly associated by with the alt-right but not by the left. He has a lot of fans among the left and a lot of people, like me, who don't attack him unjustly but still think he is bizarre on truth & sexuality and makes criticising postmodernism much harder.
-
I guess it depends on how you define the left. People like you, no. But Google "Jordan Peterson alt right" and it isn't just left wing outlets like salon that are doing it, but mainstream sources like NBC. It is similar to how free speech is now considered a right wing issue.
-
We all know this happens but what was said here was: https://twitter.com/LukeOram/status/992156708419129344 … Pointing out that other people call him alt-right doesn't address that at all.
-
I'm sure you don't think people shouldn't criticise his concept of truth whilst deploring unfair accusations because other people make fair accusations. There must be a way to criticise his epistemology, surely?
-
I don't disagree with that. I just think that people like Peterson will always a have a large audience so long as the rational voices on the left are marginalized. So long as "not far left" equals "alt-right" in the eyes of the media, that will be the case.
