It has done. I was once informed by a real-life in-law that, because I am a woman, I am only interested in my husband for his income and that I would certainly divorce him, keep his child from him & demand so much child support that he'd be destitute because women are evil.

There wasn't much I could say to that but the injustice of it made me loathe that person and I am very glad it wasn't a culturally sanctioned narrative and men who think like this don't have much cultural power and there isn't a whole subculture of women self-flagellating.
