Tbh, I’m surprised the message writers didn’t see the connection. It’s the first thing I thought when I saw it, but I also thought it was funny

When you see something beautiful in someone you think someone will harass, or you think someone doesn’t understand language and will make this tweet? I really don’t get it how it could be read so wrong by them.
-
I don’t think the tube workers had any intention of encouraging harassment & the connection is accidental. I have a dark sense of humour perhaps so I saw the comment in light of the history of sexual harassment on public transport.
-
The reason there’s a connection is because a lot of verbal sexual harassment is dressed up as “compliments”. Creepy men who walk up to women and whisper stuff to them. Like I said, that’s not what tube workers were deliberately trying to encourage; it’s just a misunderstanding.
-
Yeah, I guess I’m too focused on the language and not considering the “talk to people” aspect. I see the “other side” to this too. And personally I’d rather nobody talk to me randomly anyway, so it’s not like it’s necessarily a good suggestion in any case.

I wasn't aware compliments were sexual harassment. I think people need to learn to seperate those 2 because making them the same thing will have nothing but adverse affects.

She mentions something about "the context" in her replies but in the examples she gives, mirabile dictu, "context" seems to map 100% accurately to gender. What are the odds?

It’s not like it’s says “If you see a nice pair of tits or a peachy bum, tell the owner.” That would be inappropriate!

Objective truths are out the window...this is just the beginning
Will get worse...reminds me of the start of politically correct Soviet...truth is used, shaped weaponized by the most cynical/powerful...then opposing views are silenced/punished...then mass atrocities begin.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
