I have now given up on Keto. It worked well at reducing my neurological symptoms but I gained a lb approximately every 3 days and I can't afford that. Now on a low calorie diet and will consider returning to keto when I am at a healthy weight. https://twitter.com/EnlghtnmntLibrl/status/991431599945216000 …

Eating a ketogenic diet "ad libitum" doesn't work for everyone. Some people have to resort to a low calorie version of the diet. As ketosis suits your neurological symptoms, and you're planning on undereating anyway, why not revert to calorie-controlled ketogenic diet?

Because I'm hungry and miserable all the time and realistically won't stick to it.

I'd shoot for 2lbs/week; anything more than that will be almost all lean mass and very little fat. Among other things, that can make regain more likely and harder to deal with.

No, it'll be fine. This is how I lost 130lbs in a year last time. When you're very fat, you do lose a lot at first. It will gradually slow down as I get nearer to ideal weight.
