I'm not sure saying that it won't serve us well and could affect civilisation indicates a wish to restrict freedoms. However, I too think there is insufficient evidence to think this will be the case. There's certainly some dust that needs to settle as we work out these changes.

Although it is true that contraception & acceptance of greater sexual freedom have caused some changes which are not entirely problem-free, removing those things is not an option. You can try to persuade people they should be monogamous & childbearing. They can ignore you.
