Thing is, I've regularly experienced my mind attempting to convince me there's a God, especially during moments of euphoria, or awe. That doesn't mean I'm not an atheist. Nor does me saying I'm an atheist deny this primitive tenancy of the mind.

Sorry for the tangent, but I read that book and had thought of JP. By treating the Bible as descriptive of psychology instead of absolute truth he promotes secularism (ch 8). All aspects of 'the religion gap' (ch 10) are delivered with a flair of hyperbolic deepeties.
