Some people won't even let you agree with them. Well, they do, but once you have, they think everything that needs to be said on a topic is covered and if you try to expand, they think you've stopped agreeing with them and need to be brought back to the point.

This happens mostly with Islam & trans issues, I find. Ppl think 'Islamism is bad' and 'trans activists can be authoritarian loons' is all that needs to be said on the subjects. If you agree with that but think there's more to say abt the rights of Muslims & trans people...

If I agree that some awful human rights abuses are inspired by & justified within Islam, but then go on to say that we can address this without abandoning liberal & reforming Muslims or encouraging anti-Muslim bigotry, I'll be accused of having forgotten the first bit.
