Some people won't even let you agree with them. Well, they do, but once you have, they think everything that needs to be said on a topic is covered and if you try to expand, they think you've stopped agreeing with them and need to be brought back to the point.

I agree. Also, the conflation of trans people and trans activists is often what's most harmful to trans people. People see a trans person and think "they want to erase gender / make my hypothetical 3 year old learn about cross-dressing" etc and forget that although there... 1/2

...are people who believe that, many of whom are authoritarian loons, the majority of us just want to live our lives in peace without people trying to grab our genitals or start an argument with us in the street. 2/2

IME the sensible trans people I know facepalm harder at the authoritarian loons than anybody else.

Oh believe me, when I see a "woke" trans parent who says they couldn't love a cisgender child or some nonsense like that it makes me weep for trans activism. For some reason we seem to have inherited a larger number of total idiots than other causes.

Of course trans people & trans activism are not the same & there is still significant prejudice. Where we differ, and that is quite OK, is that I think the "loons "are more influential & dangerous than you do.

You are labouring under the illusion that people want a discussion. Most of them just want to make their point and don't really care about your side or exploring concepts or to and fro. You have my sympathies.
