So, I suppose I'd better get out of my pyjamas, then...

Apparently, it could make me a morning person? This I must see.

I've been doing a variation of it, which has been challenging since I get a 6:30 bus to work. Still, some great tips in there (though I can already imagine your eyes rolling at certain passages)

Affirmations and visualisations? *breaks eyes*
-
Why would affirmations or visualizations cause skepticism? Both are studied techniques of behavior change.

No scepticism. Much cringing with embarrassment.

As someone who works from home I agree with this theory in full. Some days the pajamas are rather nice though.

My uncle who left his job to start his own business working from home found exactly the same thing. Well, not the hair and make-up part but you get the drift.

There is a PhD in this for some post grad behavioral psychologist, cause it is so true! (well, except for the make-up, I never tried that, it seems wrong somehow.)

The very reason I walk 25 minutes to the university library to work instead of a 10 second stagger to the computer at home. I'm dressed, washed, out of the house and in the right mindset to work.

Everyone says this, and I can see how it works that way for them. For me, though, I gotta be as relaxed as I can be when I write or else I get serious writer's block. Don't know why. But that's why I prefer pajamas and slippers to work clothes and shoes.

I did similar when working from home for five years: If I was in my pyjamas (ie nude), I wasn’t working.

Another reason it is so effective: If I have to take a break to run an emergency errand, I can just pop on my shoes, grab my wallet, run the errand and get back to work. I don't need to take another hour to bathe and dress, a disruption that can really skew the day.

Funny how that works, isn't it?
