Except that 'tribe' comes from Latin via *English* which originally comes from England and was most commonly used to refer to ancient Hebrew groups within Christianity & applied retrospectively to Iron Age Britons and much, much, much later to Native Americans. It has. It's now PC to call them North American Indians. I live in a place with a lot of tribes. This is a thing. "Indigeonous, Native American and First Nations Peoples" are considered offensive and problematic.

Who decides what terms are "offensive and problematic"? It seems that it is often a small, but very vocal,

It’s always been a pet peeve of mine. I know that many of them call themselves Indians, but they aren’t Indian. It has never made sense why we keep using it. Indians are from India.
