My tweeps like me much better when I am skeptical of secular ideologies like postmodernism and associated feminism and SocJus stuff than when I am skeptical of religious ideologies right now. It used to be the other way round. XD

Are those two different things? Interesting, I had the SocJus stuff down as one and the same as a religious cult.

I'm sure you know what I am talking about regardless of their shared characteristics which I have recently argued for in two talks and a podcast.

agreed. It is the endurance of the biblical stories that is pretty impressive. You can dive pretty deeply into them too. Postmodernism? Well after the “nothing matters part” there is nothing to do or say.

As you are the only historian I know is their any objective validity to the “Prophecy of Tyre”? Christians claim it is a true miracle.

Not my area of history but it looks like one of the few things that came to pass. Which it would really. Empires rise and fall.

I think I have just been focused on the secular political scene much more lately. The New Atheist moment has passed.

The religious and the scientistic share common ground in defending objective truths and the possibility of knowledge against postmodernism. How great that this common ground leads to exchanges about other points of difference. That’s the way it’s supposed to work.

I suspect it's because the SJWs have been the more front and center enemies to free expression in the last decade or so. Prior to that the religious right was seen as the bigger threat.
