Areo will soon be publishing a well-written and well-argued defence of postmodernism. I encourage you all to read it because it puts forward the best case for it, makes the most common defences that you're likely to hear and also some original & thought-provoking ones.

In a recent 'debate' with one, he redefined 'postmodernism' as 'thinking' and mounted a defence of why thinking is good and why being critical of thinking is bad.

Therefore, it is wonderful when an honest person who understands postmodernism wants to argue about its worth in a straightforward way making reasoned arguments. I am quite excited about it although, ultimately, I think he is wrong. I can concede some points tho.

Definitely looking forward to this BECAUSE it will be presented in a civil and well argued format, rather than the usual confrontational "eVuL white MAYONNAISE Chad chek yor privilege" that is way too prevalent.

An interesting irony is that some of those who love such arguments most are traditional dogmatists who use them to break down people's belief in objective truth just so they can substitute their own evidence-free version of it, as I wrote about here: http://stripey7.blogspot.com/2018/03/theres-group-with-table-set-up-on.html …

Its interesting that activists with applied postmodern education will still try to support their causes with evidence first...history, stats (even if ill considered like the wage gap). Any push back leads to retreat from reason as a valid concept other than supporting oppression
